Support

For product support send us a support email from the laan labs site here.

Hey everyone,

We finally released the update that fixes many of the problems you’re having.

We accidentally introduced a bug that ignores your timer interval setting, but we have already submitted an update to apple to fix this issue. It should be out in a few days.

This update allows video rendering at HD resolutions, some of these are too big too be played on older devices. So if you’re experiencing green or blank video on playback, you may have to transfer the video to a computer to view it, or render at a lower resolution. You can also restart your device to free up memory. If you’re still having problems, please email us at labs at laan d0t com and tell us which model phone you have, and we will try to help out.

For those rendering at 720p 16:9 and having problems, what device model are you using? what FPS are you rendering at ? Email and let us know.

This app was listed as Top Free on iPhone store and then I was charged for it.

DL’d app and was absolutely easy to use and fun…then after three movies made in an hour my iphone lost all sound and prompted me as if I had headphones plugged in…yet headphones didn’t work either. also was slowing my iphone and causing a stalling chatter when scrolling. Once I deleted app and turned phone off then on again my phone worked fine again. Was such a great app that I want to try again yet today it is 2.99. I would like to try again for free hoping that it won’t mess up my phone functions. Yesterday was free can i try again ? or if you assure me money back if causing probs i may consider. Great idea for an app… though!

I’ve created a time lapse movie with 686 frames renderred at 480×640 at 10 fps. The app won’t let me send it to my camera roll so I can download ton the computer. When I click on ‘camera roll’ A message says “Error – This video cannot be exported to camera roll. It may be too short (1-2 seconds) or the resolution is too large. Try rendering again with different settings”. My problem is neither of these. If I click on ‘Facebook – Upload video’ the app just shuts down and does nothing. How can I get my video off my iphone??

We are working on including a direct file transfer in an update but for now the best thing to do is upload to youtube and then in you admin console of youtube you can download as mp4 — sorry that is such a hassle (also the fb fix has been submitted and should be in app store shortly)

Hello, i just finished a 50 frames time lapse movie renderred at 640X480, when I try to export it to my MAC it gives “green” screen..
Direct import through mac’s Image Capture gives green movie, import through IPhoto also gives green movie,
Help me out please! I want to use the movie in an edit..

Michael Murray
December 9th, 2009

Hi, I have the same problem as Jeroen. I get a green screen when I try to download it with capture. It works in my phone, but I’d love to use it as a regular MOV file in an edit. Plus, when I upload it to Vimeo, When I try to access it on Vimeo, it says File still uploading, even after 24 hours. That’s not right. I can’t get it to go to Youtube either. Also, the 10 MB e-mail limit should be left up to the e-mail server, no? How about a link to send it to a mobile me account?

I don’t want to sound like I’m ripping the product apart, I’m not. I love it. I shoots great high quality images. I just want all the options to work for me. Thanks for your time. Please reply.

green screen problem with mac ?

maybe you need the free quick time plugin
PERIAN or flip4mac
better both
they are free and very useful generally.
or open with VLC is free

I have the same problem as Jeroen and Michael Murray. I transfer the files from the Camera Roll to my PC just as any other video or picture and the files show as “green screen”. I have also tried to copy the files using the DiskAid application with the same result.

I also love this app so far, I’m just trying to get the best out of it.

the problem with the green screen is that certain video cards do not support certain frame rates — we have fixed this in the update, but you can render your videos at 24 or 30fps to see them on any computer with this version –

April 26th, 2010

I just shot a short video with iTimelapse Pro with resolution 600 x 800 px.

When exporting to camera roll i have back a message that advise
“This video cannot be exported to camera roll. It may be too short (1-2 seconds)
or the resolution is too large. Try rendering again with different setting.”

Actually I render my video during capture, so the software does’t permit
me to render again the video in a different resolution.

What can I do?

Do you think to correct this sort of bug?

Many thanks.

Love the software, hate the lack of transfer capabilities. Using a 3G I shot a 45minute drive at 1sec interval 640×480 for use in a video. Software shot 698 frames (that’s about 3.5 sec per frame not 1sec), then rendered out at same res and 320×240 (which I couldn’t use in my video). Too bad I couldn’t send either one via email (18.5MB and 37.1MB), and YouTube is a painful workaround, and not viable if I don’t want to publish the material in that state . Used DiskAid app which is great ($$), but again, why can’t you just make a transfer utility? I’d gladly pay few more bucks to have it easy to do from within the app…

I paid for the Pro version and tried my first movie a few days ago. It is a brilliant application, outstanding. Except two points:
1) The video plays fine on iPhone and from Desktop of 10.6 Mac Pro, but uploaded to my own website, it displays as a green screen.
2) The options to share on social networks are many, but “sharing” with yourself, i.e. getting the movie from iPhone to computer isn’t as easy.

Why would .mov show up as a green mess?

What is the point of > 640×480 resolution if you can’t get them off the phone via facebook/youtube/camera roll? I have some very nice videos I want to transfer from my 3G but they are over 10MB at 800×600. But I don’t want to down-scale them to 640×480. How do I get these videos onto my PC?

The app seems to be amazing at first, but when you try to use it, you clearly see some lacks, like:

1. No way to export anything rendered > than 480×640
2. No easy way to record in landscape mode (I’m still trying to find)

It seems you have a lot of work to be done before this app can be considered a MUST HAVE APP.

BTW I like it.

Every video I make renders at 0×0 so I have not got to see any of my time lapse yet. I like the idea of this app but would like a working version. There is no way I would ever pay for an app that makes a clicking noise every 5 seconds and that’s all it does. Refund or working version please.

I think the app looks really awesome.
However, I bought it without checking to see if it allowed for movies to be made from pictures in the camera roll, and since I have an itouch I can’t really use it…
It’s not your guys fault, but could you please make an update that allows for videos to be made with pictures from the photo library?
I’d appreciate that soooo much!! Thanks!
:D

Sincerely,

I am also curious when the iPhone 4 update might come.

Issues I’ve experienced:

- The app goes to sleep with the iPhone 4.

- It seems the camera is set to Auto for flash no matter what.

Thanks! I bought the app about three days before the iPhone 4 and it was great on the 3Gs. Looking forward to using it for real on the 4!

great app, but….as others have said, we need a simple way to get larger rendered video onto the computer.

update please guys ?

also, im running this on an old 3G with IOS 4 and can not play any video in the app. the app just crashes when i try.

so far i can only get shorter videos to the camera roll, and then to the PC.

this needs an update to fix the transfer of larger videos.

Vimeo-
44 minutes ago: UPLOADING -8seconds video is still uploading on 1600×1200, can’t be true, so I can’t get the good res videos out from the app anywhere.

Do not buy this software before the update!

Hey guys,

I found a solution to get the fullres videos (and PNG’s too) out from the phone. Download and install iPhone Explorer ( http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/ ) free. Find your app folder and there you have the rendered videos.

What I would like to see in itimelapse is manual sharpening and aperture. Same as in camera app. Possible?

Cheers,

+UI is nicely done
-First attempt (iPhone 4) 600×800, 10 mins odd @ 4 sec interval. Upon rendering claimed source size was 0×0 pixels, all frames and render black.
-Second attempt, quick test at 480×640 @ 2 sec interval. Flash going off all the time, for long periods only the iris showed making it hard to stop.
I’d be happy enough just to have it work properly in iOS 4.

Here is my Work- a-round
I too am very sad that this program does not export directly from the iphone.
I tried uploading to youtube, that worked but all I could download back was a MP4 compressed yukky. Vimeo — 2 weeks later and although I have uploaded 3 time now and each time the upload was successful, Vimeo still shows each video as still uploading . Can’t quite work that one out.
I downloaded a bunch of programs that say they can get files from the iphone but it seems if you want to get the video (MOV ) files that Itimelapse makes , you would have to jailbreak the phone and I’m not ready to do that just yet. No loyalty to Apple or att&T , I’m just not ready.
Today I had enough and tried this..

* Open Itimelapse on the iphone…
* Open the project you want to get off the phone.
* At the bottom left corner of the screen , select “Details”.
*Select Button ” EDIT FRAMES” ( this is a rectangular red button)
* Top right hand corner select ” EXPORT FRAMES”
* This will export all the still frames from your project to Your camera Roll on the Iphone.
* I used” Iphone Explorer” to retrieve all the single frames from the phone and put them in a folder on my desktop.
I guess you could do this in Itunes (I’m not sure) but I found this easier because in Iphone Browser I could see all the files and select them and drag into the folder I created on my desktop.
* I did see that the iphone saved the individual frames in blocks of 1000 and also saw that at the beginning of each thousand the numbering started at 1 and not zero. eg. 998.. 999.. next folder… 1001…( there was no 1000)
* I then imported these individual frames into my movie edit software (in my case Premiere ) and rendered from there a new Movie and Yippee , after 3 weeks now I have a full resolution no compression copy of what I should have been able to do automatically out of Itimelapse…
* note — set your edit software to import still frames at 1 frame length. in other words each frame you import should only be 1 frame on your time line.
This is just my work a round and I’m sure there are others out there.
I am just as p’d off at Itimelapse as every one else .
I think it is only fair to expect that if a program captures in HD that it is a reasonable expectation that you should be able to export the highest resolution that program offers and not be left on your own to find acceptable work arounds, as is the case here. The people at Itimelapse clearly agree as they have stated in earlier posts but have chosen to not keep their paying customers onformed of the progress.
I hope this helps and feel free to add on or correct this info
Cheers
Tony

The app has a lot of potential, but there are some bugs that stop you from producing the final results:

1 – It seems my iPhone locks after about 5 minutes and so the app stops
2 – If during the recording you move the phone from portrait to Landscape it also crashes

Point 2 I can live with but does anyone have suggestions on my first point?

Cheers,
Derick.

Hi Derick.
Just in case you haven’t already tried this.
Two things I have discovered and worth mentioning.
1 — when using Itimelapse always be in Airplane Mode.
2 — make sure that in iphone settings , general,Auto_Lock is set to “NEVER”
Sorry if you have already tried these but you never know.
Cheers

Iphone 3gs, ios4

Hi, I just bought this app and so far I like it. However, every so often it just crashes. Also, after taking 24 frames at the highest resolution, the app wouldn’t take any more until I hit exit from the camera screen, then went back and started shooting again. I was hoping to use this to make a high resolution stop motion, but from reading this page looks like that is not easy. Are you going to update this app at any time or is it just abandon ware?

October 23rd, 2010

Wow. I just bought this app for iphone 4 and had a problem so I came to this support page and read all the above requests. I soon forgot about my app problem after getting half way through the comments and seeing that so many people are unhappy with the app. These paid customers are being very patient and respectful with the developer and yet he can’t even take 1 minute to respond to there questions. That is pretty low. And here the paying customers are the ones having to put in the time and effort to come up with fixes for your software. BTW, Thank’s Osku and Tony P for your efforts. I think until you (the developer) can get your app working equal to what it states in the description upon purchase, it should not be available in the store for consumers to buy. This is very misleading! I understand all app’s have bugs but the developer always continues to work on updates which should take no longer than 30 days. Not to mention the developer keeps the consumers informed of the status of the updates and bugs. This developer has not responded in 10 months. What a joke. I think you (The Developer) owe us all an apology , not to mention a refund! I elect to donate my refund to Osku and Tony P! And to the developer, I think you owe Osku and Tony P. a big thank you along with some $ since they had to take on the role of “Admin” for your pretty cool little app if it ever does what you say it does. Please contact me in regards to getting my app to work properly or to get me my refund. If no response in 3 days I will take the time to bash your app and developer name in as many places as I can find.

XOXO,
One of many customers you ripped off!

Bob
October 26th, 2010

I downloaded this app yesterday before I read all these comments. However, I tried it today on a new iPhone 4 with the latest OS version and it worked fine. It saved the rendered video to my camera roll and I was able to export the video and the individual images to my PC. The app allowed me to edit out some bad frames and re-render. It also recorded the images in landscape mode. It does all that I expected. I hope there is a fix for the rest of you as this is a cool app.

Jimmy
October 27th, 2010

Bob,
Did you shoot at the highest resolution? This does not work on other peoples Iphone 4. Also, Did you try shooting anything in dim light? The flash fires and it ruins the time lapse video. I have tried everything to get it to stop. I was just looking to purchase other time lapse app’s and the funny thing is I read some of the comments first which were a lot of people who purchased this one before buying the new one. They all were complaining about how the Laan labs guys are missing in action. If anyone has discovered a way to get this app working correctly please let us know!

The problems you listed are accurate. I can usually watch finished rendered videos…using the 1200×1600 setting because the highest setting won’t work…but the won’t save to the camera roll. I get a pop-up that says:

This video cannot be exported to the camera roll. It may be too short (1-2 seconds) or the resolution is too large. Try rendering again with different settings.

That’s way not cool. I can upload to the options but cannot send to camera roll

Hi!

Thx for a nice app, looking forward for the iPhone4 fixes! It would be even more awesome if you could add one more way to calculate number of shots and interval. When creating timelapses I usually start thinking about whatframerate I want and how long should the video become, e.g. 15 seconds at 25 fps which gives 375 frames. Then I decide the interval based upon how long the event is. It would be great if I could instead just enter end clip duration, fps in rendered video and event duration! Hope you find this idea great and worth implementing!

Thx

Screw coming on here to see if an OS4 update exists.. I am starting to wonder if the developers exist! Funny how you have time to release other apps but you do not have time to do a bug fix. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that you will receive thousands of dollars in sales of a new app as opposed to not making any profit off updating an app you already made. You guys already have all our $ so no need to even respond to us anymore. Go look at all the requests for support and help on this app in not just your website but also 3rd party websites and you guys don’t even respond. Then you post this silly little statement saying you will have the update done by Christmas.
What year did you mean because Xmas is long over with. And not a single trace of you guys nor and answers to our questions. You guys are looking like a couple of immature highschool kids. Now man up and follow through with your responsibility’s like a mature adult and give us OS 4 support as promised or return our money immediately until you can function like a responsible business. Do not bore us with anymore of your empty promises about being patient because support is coming. I want my $ back till you can release the update. I have cached this page and all others regarding this issue and if no response is received by 1-20-2011 I’m going to post it on every iPhone and Droid website I can find warning people not to purchase your products.

Talk to you in a couple days ,
James

couldn’t agree more with the above statement.

where the F@@k is the update for iphone 4 ?
this was a halfway decent app on the iphone 3 and 3G-S but it plain sucks on iphone 4.

i have already complained to apple about your lack of support. and a fualsl advertised app. this ap should carry a IOS4 disclaimer at the very least.

it’s fairly obvious that all you guys care about is the money from new aps, once you have the money, you don’t want to know about developing existing customers.

it’s simply not good enough.

Jason.

Fixing this fucking app or pull it off the app store (or option 3, lawsuit!)

Spaceboy
February 6th, 2011

I see a lot of complains here from iPhone 4 users. I have a 3G, and the app still doesn’t work! It crashes when rendering. And can’t export videos to the filmroll because the ‘video is too short or too high resolution’. WHAT??? Then why do you give the option to use high res and shooting only a few frames? But the main question is, HOW DARE YOU STILL CHARGING FOR AN APP THAT YOU KNOW DOESN’T WORK????? This is so unethical, not to mention ILLEGAL! I want my money back!

imockman
February 8th, 2011

Have an iPhone 3gs with updates. Cant watch iTimelapse in App, have to share it with camera roll. Can watch in cammera roll, but can not import to computer (green screen). Can use a video uploader for facebook,. App woeked better before up dates installed for iPhone OS.

imockman
February 8th, 2011

This was mos useful, I copied it from way above…”the problem with the green screen is that certain video cards do not support certain frame rates — we have fixed this in the update, but you can render your videos at 24 or 30fps to see them on any computer with this version ” Fixed the green screen issue with importing, but the app is still squirley withiPhone OS4 and up. I seem to be able to work around most issues. 24fps is the ticket to no green screen for importing.

Chris

Hi
I’d love to be able to edit frames via some photo editing software prior to video rendering so I can add some special effects to the movies I make. Any idea how I could go about it?

Thanks

These assholes have all the time in the world to produce new app’s and collect new money but they do not have time to update their app’s. Everyone who is having trouble with this app PLEASE file a complaint onApp Store/itunes. When you go to purchase this app at the very bottom there is reviews and a link to “Report a problem”. It is very quick and easy. If we get enough complaints we can get these guys shut down. They are not going to update the app. If you look at the website and reviews its nothing but people complaining. People have been asking for an update for almost 2 years. I would not waste your time asking for the update. Just report the app as fraud to itunes. People like this should not get rich off people like us. But we are the only ones who can stop it.

Jason M
February 14th, 2011

i just realised that they said they would have an update to fix iphone 4 issues before Christmas, but they didn’t say which year….

these guys are now just defrauding app store customers, and their apps should all be pulled and moneys refunded.

its clear they have no interest in fixing old apps.
all they want is your money from developing new ones.

im going to do as suggested above, and report the app to itunes.

Are ye ever going to fix this god dam app!!!!!!!!!! I’ve bought this in nov for full price and it never worked!!! I’m not interested in little short cuts to get around the problem! Shouldn’t have to do it!!!! I want my money back. Apple will be notified as I can’t understand how this product has been on sale for such a long time and it doesn’t work.every one is having problems with this app! This app should be free until it’s fixed. And it looks like u gave up on trying to fix it’

Hi Green screen problem solved.

I changed video frames per second from default 16 to 30
that solved green screen problem

Stephen
February 17th, 2011

Well, I think it’s obvious that from reading the reviews and coments in this matter that these guys don’t give a shit and they continue to sell the app plus other apps too. Everyone is going to have to send an email to apple about this cos these gangsters should be shut down and have the peoples money refunded. As far as I know reporting the problem on the app on iTunes only goes to the developer.now I’m going to send an email to apple themselves but is there another way to log a comlaint regarding this that goes directly to apple? Advice would be grateful.

When I put to render, it does that but, after he finish it exu=it from app…:( I can’t rander the pictures for the movie…:( Can you solve the problem. Before the iOS 4.3 I haven’t ecoured this problem. Thank you! ^_^!

I’m so pissed off – doubly so because Apple also makes money from the activity of these criminals. BTW I was only redirected to this site *after* I filed a complaint…. The most offensive thing is that I ws *forced* to rate one star just to be able to publish my negative review.

Ken Stephens
March 13th, 2011

The app worked great until I upgraded to 4.3 on my iPod Touch 4th Gen. Then it worked twice and now crashes at the end of rendering the file.

When I go to render again, it asks if I want to overwrite the file with the same name but when you check the rendered video queue, there are no files there to overwrite.

I really enjoyed the app when it was working and look forward to using it again.

Thanks.

March 14th, 2011

Hello there.

I think it’s a great app, but now I’ve the same problem as Ken Stephens.

It worked fine until I upgraded to iOS4.3 yesterday. It won’t render, and at the end of rendering it crashes. When I go back in, there’s no file rendered to view. And if you try to render it again with the same file name, it asks if I want to overwrite the file.

Please fix this soon because it’s not working at all anymore!

Thanks.

Still crashing after I try to render. Can never watch it. I see this is a November post. This is March. When will it work for the iphone 4? Rendered it untill the end then crashed. Open it back up and the project is there but still can’t watch. try to render again. Asks if I want to overwrite. I say yes and get the same results.

I have the same problem as Dee, Ken Stephens, Michael R and smochina4000.

It crashes at the end of rendering since iOS 4.3 (iPhone 4). I hope you provide very soon.

But i´m not sure, because there was no update since December 2009. And today it’s March, 2011. :( (( So let’s hope the best, because timelapse is / was one of the most innovative apps

March 18th, 2011

I was shown this application by someone with a 3GS, and was very impressed. I foolishly purchased it straight up for my iPhone 4, without doing suitable due diligence, and only afterwards, when I can’t get a single project to render, and I “report a problem” via iTunes and get to this page, do I find every other person with either a) an iPhone 4, or b) running iOS 4 and above has the same issue. This is pretty poor isn’t it? Mid March 2011, your post “suggests” a fix should have been available by Christmas. Now we all know some things take longer than expected, but really.

You should do the *MORALLY* correct thing and remove the application from sale for iPhone 4 / iOs 4 users. It is simply unacceptable that people such as me can by an app that *you* know CANNOT WORK on our devices currently until you fix it.

Hallo,

Schade….

For those who are stuck with the green problem
– You can open the video with VLC, it will work
– If you want to use it (for editing), you can transcode it with VLC (h264 codec) and then retranscoding it with Quicktime, into Quicktime .mov

Hi,

This seems to be a great app and was about to buy it, especially when I got here through other sites recommendations! However, I’m glad that I read the reviews prior to purchasing the app since it doesn’t seem to work with iPhone 4. I’m not sure why you’re charging $.99 for this app when it doesn’t work?! I did see the note that the price reduction was due to the bugs for iPhone 4 but I also saw a note that said bugs will be fixed before Christmas. I’m assuming you meant 2010? Or did you mean 2011? I’m just curious as to when the App should work for iPhone 4 so I can decide on whether I should wait or if I should just go ahead with TimeLapse. A time frame with a rough estimate would be appreciated. I just want to make the sure that the developers didn’t hit a dead end and just gave up to throw this app on the shelf!

Also, will you refund me if I bought this now but find out within 30 days that this app still doesn’t work on an iPhone 4?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks!

Is there any plan to fix the issues with this app? It has such potential but it is clearly not working correctly and crashes on my iPhone 4 even when set in low resolution mode.
I know it is not expensive at 51p but it does not seem right to still be selling an app on iTunes that does not function correctly and there is an increasing amount of negative feedback. I am sure that some updated statement from the development team could soon address this, assuming that there is a plan to create a fix?
Please let us know!

NOTHING LIKE PAYING FOR AN APP THAT DOESNT WORK
……………
NOTHING LIKE SPENDING AN HOUR OR TWO CAPTURING 900 IMAGES

ONLY FOR THE APP TO CONTINUALLY CRASH AFTER RENDERING … BUT WAS NEVER RENDERED …..

SERIOUSLY WTF DID I PAY FOR ???

Simon
May 10th, 2011

This app continuously crashes on completion of render. In the “Watch” area there are no completed videos, yet on attempted re-render I get a warning that the file already exists and will be overwritten.
Forced quits, reboots of the phone, changing render or capture settings all fail to solve the issue.

It may only be $1, but it seems like $1 right down the drain.

Fortunately I work in an environment with customers asking me all day, every day, which apps to get and which to avoid. Until this is fixed I will strongly discourage my customers from this App.

I recommend we all suggest people stay away from any App written by Laan Labs ( http://labs.laan.com/wp/products/ ) as they clearly value the $ more than the customer.

Like all the others on iOS 4.x it fails to render. Worked perfectly on 4.1 so I understand this may be an Apple issue, however, we are yet to see an update as mentioned on your site.

I also notice that you haven’t responded for a looooong time to these bugs. Take some time to re-develop this fantastic app and help your customers out. It wouldn’t take much for someone to smash your reputation as a serious and talented app developer.

Like my Father used to say, you’re only as good as your last job and your customers’ feedback…

May 24th, 2011

Got the new update, my first two attempts to render didn’t work (black screen or green screen) I was trying 720p 16:9

Redid the render in 4:3 aspect and I was successful.

Seems to be an issue with 16:9 at this resolution?

vertigo
May 24th, 2011

As an update, it appears that 1080p 16:9 works. Problem only seems to exist on 720p 16:9, which seems like the ideal resolution to me.

Please fix, this should be easy to diagnose and fix.

have tried a few resolutions none at 16×9 yet.

PLEASE CHANGE YOUR COMMENTS ORDER TO “NEWEST FRIST”

rickcb
August 31st, 2011

I have created two videos in iTimeLapse, one at 136 frame, resolution of 128×960, 135mb, the other at 296 frames, resolution pf 1280×960, 259mb. I am unable to export either of to my camera roll.

I noticed from the comments here that this was a problem over a year ago – is this still the case? Surely some way has been found to fix it by now.

Unless I can find a way round this problem I’ll be returning to using ReelMoments. A shame because I really thought iTimeLapse was the better product.

Dear

I’m an user of iPhone & iPad.

If you have a mind to make an alliance with a Korea I want to translate and promote in here.

Sincerely,

Drey
October 28th, 2011

Can you please add the option of rendering pictures from the photo gallery that were not taken by iPad or the iPhone? That would be great.

Blaine
November 2nd, 2011

There does not seem to be any way to turn off the screen while the app is taking a series of photos. This drains the battery too fast to take a meaningful set of stills.

Also, there should be an option for turning off the shutter sound. It’s just more battery drain, and it can get irritating.

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. But imagine if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this blog could definitely be one of the best in its niche. Terrific blog!

Is there a solution to fix this at all?
Video is great in edit mode but not so great after render!
Thanks

Hi, great app, but you can’t line your shots up in the viewfinder, it just crops it differently once rendered. Very frustrating! All it needs are some guides so you know exactly the area you’re shooting. Please fix it! Cheers

Just to add to that, that’s if you want to render in 16:9, it’s near on impossible to know where it’s cropped to when shooting.

I tried out this apps. Works on my IP4s. Only few enhancement I wanted badly..
1. Focus and white balance lock. I do not want the focus that kept changing when shooting a blooming flower nor a sky that has different colors in every frame when shooting sunset or night sky.
2. Please have the option to turn off the screen for power conservation. My phone couldn’t last too long with the screen kept on.
3. Please have the option to silent the shutter sound. I can’t put it on my balcony when it keeps on “click”, “click”, “click” away. Attracts too much attention.

We used to use this app all the time, the kids loved it. However the last update has ripped the the overlay positioning from the camera’s position. So it is impossible to line up your next shot because the camera’s positioning is miles off the previously shot frame. You have to effectively guess. If your animation is fiddly – and you happen to knock down elements of it (let’s say Lego figures) it’s impossible to put them back in the right place.

I’ve always stamped my videos with your logo because when it works it’s a great app – probably the best. But it’s been broken for months now. Please fix it.

Hi,the app keeps crashing when I’m trying to render my video. It gets to about 20s to go and crashes. Im trying to render a 725frame vid and have tried 6-9fps. Its on an 4S, My friends one works fine, great app, just want it to work for the vid I’ve made!

Any suggestions?

I would like to be able to set my iPhone to take video or snapshots on detection of movement and/or sound.

Does this application do this ?

Is it planned ?

Do you know an application that does ?

I can’t even get it to launch. Seriously, act like professionals and fix your software. This is unacceptable.

There are some interesting points in time in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There’s some validity but I will take hold opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we would like more! Added to FeedBurner as well

I agree with ysloy on his suggested enhancements Plus I have one more of my own.

1. Focus and white balance lock.

2. Please have the option to turn off the screen for power conservation.

3. Please have the option to silent the shutter sound.

4. Give a shot preview/set up mode before you start your time lapse. It is difficult to set your framing up before you start shooting. I tend to do a short test time lapse first just to check my framing.

I like this app a lot, it’s fun and easy. It didn’t work when I ran out of space, but I just deleted some music and it worked fine after that.

Can you please try to create a shorter capture interval (.5 sec, .25 sec) including the highest resolutions?

I do a lot of time lapse and bought iTimelapse for a bit of fun. Every other camera exports the frames to an external folder in perfect sequence. iTimelapse for some reason exports the frames in its ‘Project Images’ folder in reverse and randomly sequenced. This makes it impossible to render the frames in programs like Quicktime or Lightroom. Auto batching will rename the frames but not un-jumble their order. Any help appreciated.
For $2.00 it is a great little App, it could be absolutely brilliant with a little bit of tweaking. Thanks Guys.

Hi, just purchased you app on Thursday and absolutely LOVING it! However I have found there is no render as you go option as is stated in the help file.
Also, a select area to focus on and ability to see where the camera is looking without switching between the camera app and iTimelapse would be great.
Another option would be the ability to export via “Dropbox”.
Thanks for a fantastic app, very happy.

I have really enjoyed this app. In fact, I even am keeping an older iPhone 4 to use just for time-lapse.

But I am having a big problem right now. I am not sure if it has always been a problem, or something I have only recently become aware of.

Basically, everything is getting cropped. I have tried exporting at the native, recommended resolution, as well as going to the higher res, but I am still getting the cropped video.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

how do I delete files that are in itunes? There is video files and picture files that is eating up data on my phone.

[...] There was an excellent exhibit on the first floor that detailed the history of animation from the first mechanical zoetrope up to the modern hand-drawn animation style for which Studio Ghibli is famous. The displays were interactive, informative and fun. The theatre is also on the first floor but there was a long lineup so I skipped it and when upstairs. The main exhibit on the second floor is about the process of hand drawn animation. You walk through a room with drawings on the wall, a desk with a drawing pad with a bucket of pencil stubs beside it. It’s almost like you are looking over Miazaki’s shoulder while he works.  Another room takes you from the sketches to the final cels that are photographed to make the film. You can look through a camera at the story board and turn cranks to frame the the shot. Here is a crude example of the process using only a white board and an iPhone as the camera. [...]

I’ve created a time lapse movie with 4177 frames shot at1600 x 1200 res and renderred at 16fps at 1440×1080. The app won’t let me send it to my camera roll so I can download ton the computer. When I click on ‘camera roll’ A message says “Error – This video cannot be exported to camera roll. It may be too short (1-2 seconds) or the resolution is too large. Try rendering again with different settings”. It is an iPhone 5 with 15 GB free space. Any ideas. Many thanks in advance, Terry
